  1.  
  2. This is the National Cooking Echo.  It is a non-region specific conference
  3. dedicated to all persons interested in cooking and/or food related topics.
  4.  
  5. 1.  Topics may be broad, but the common theme shall remain cooking. This
  6.     may include recipes, appliances, utensils, cook books, food history,
  7.     etc. The discussion of the benefits of herbs for medicinal purposes is
  8.     off topic, as are the benefits or recipes of any illegal or controlled
  9.     substances. Discussion of brewing and distilling alcohol is not
  10.     allowed, however, the discussion of which wines to serve with various
  11.     dishes is allowed.
  12.  
  13. 2.  Avoid excessive quoting. Try to quote enough of the message so that the
  14.     person you are responding to understands the reply. Change the subject
  15.     line when it no longer applies to the message.
  16.  
  17. 3.  The number of recipes per message must be limited to one, or two
  18.     very short recipes.  As a rule of thumb, if two recipes exceed 100
  19.     lines in message length, it would be better to post them in two
  20.     messages.
  21.  
  22. 4.  DON'T get personal!  Personal attacks (Flames), and Profanity
  23.     are unnecessary and unwelcome in this conference.
  24.  
  25. 5.  NO religion, theology, doctrine or biblical references are to be
  26.     discussed or debated. No political debates will be tolerated.
  27.     No racial, ethnic or religious slurs will be tolerated.
  28.  
  29. 6.  The official language of the echo is English. Please do not post
  30.     messages, recipes or anything else in any other language.
  31.  
  32. 7.  ONLY the Moderators will address off-topic traffic.
  33.  
  34. 8.  NO Private Messages.
  35.  
  36. 9.  Handles and/or Aliases allowed if they are a normal part of your
  37.     BBSing. However, you must post your real first and last name at
  38.     end of your message.
  39.  
  40. 10. High-end characters (8-bit ascii/ansi escape) are not allowed.
  41.     These characters cause havoc on some systems.
  42.  
  43. 11. NO advertisements of any kind (including BBS ads) allowed, with the
  44.     following exception: ONE advertisement of new cooking related software
  45.     is allowed. You may NEVER advertise ANYTHING to sell in the echo.

  47. 12. The change in moderators will be done in accordance with the current
  48.     Echopol rules.  In the event that there is no concise and clear rule in
  49.     existence at the time of the change, the current moderator will post the
  50.     requirements of the job and will ask for names of those interested.  The
  51.     decision will be made, by the current moderator, from the names
  52.     submitted.

  54.     The co-moderator will be offered the job of moderator before asking
  55.     for names.
  56.  
  57. 13. These Guidelines are subject to change at any time. The moderator's
  58.     word is the final authority.

  62. 1. If you mention a recipe in your message - you MUST post it!  Do not ask
  63.    if anyone wants it.  If you like it, someone else will like it too.
